The ninth edition of Faculty Development Programme (FDP) at IIM Indore concluded on May 30, 2017. The five week programme was inaugurated on April 24, 2017. A total of 49 participants had registered for the programme.
The valedictory ceremony took place in the presence of Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore and Professor Dibyadyuti Roy, Programme Coordinator and Faculty, IIM Indore and Professor Kamal K. Jain, Dean (Academic).
Professor Roy welcomed the participants and noted that it has been a wonderful experience having faculty from various colleges altogether for the programme.
Professor Krishnan then addressed the gathering. He advised the participants to positively use the learnings of the programme and take up the challenge to create a management plan for improvement in education patterns. ‘The best tribute you can give to this programme is by using the learnings achieved during the course for contribution to the education field and the society’, he said.
Professor Jain also encouraged the participants to focus on the learnings of the programme. He mentioned that people want to learn, but they don’t want to be taught. It is the challenge for every teacher to teach the pupil in a manner that he learns, but doesn’t feel that he is been taught.
This was followed by certificate distribution to the participants by the Director.
The FDP at IIM Indore aims at professional development of management teachers, researchers, and practitioners. It gives participants a chance to learn about Case and Teaching Skill Development, Research Methodology, Research Skill Development and Perspectives on Management.
