IIM Indore’s PGP 20128-20 participant Tejas Saxena received the prestigious Aditya Birla Scholarship on September 22, 2018 at Mumbai. Competing with over 16 candidates who were shortlisted out of 36, Tejas will be receiving Rs. 1.75 Lakhs/year as scholarship.
The selection procedure included shortlisting of only top 20 students from top IIMs and XLRI at the time of admissions. The students were supposed to fill in a form and provide details about academic achievements and extra-curricular activities. The next step involved writing two essay
s—one describing the future goal and how the current education will help in achieving the same; and second essay about the single largest achievement that qualifies the student as Aditya Birla Scholar.
‘On the basis of our achievements and essays, 3 of us were shortlisted. We were interviewed by stellar personalities like Ms. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman, SBI; Mr. Noshir Kaka, MD, McKinsey and Ms. Sukanya Kripalu, Founder, Sukanya Consulting. It was just a simple conversation where they wanted to know more about us and how we look at different situations and what our future plans are’, says Tejas.
The second year’s scholarship will depend upon Tejas’ first year’s performance. IIM Indore congratulates Tejas and wishes her luck for her future endeavors.
