iHelp, a student-run initiative at IIM Indore conducted the Annual Cultural Day on January 09, 2020. The event was aimed at promoting cultural talent and co-curricular interests of the school students taught by the organisation.
The event saw 83 students from Umariya Secondary School assisted by Ms. Sonali and Ms. Maya – teacher in-charges, 20 volunteers along with 7 core team members. Three interest groups of the Institute, Impulse (dance), Adaa (drama), and Amplif-i (music) were also a part of the programme. The event started with a batch photoshoot followed by speech given by Col. Gururaj Gopinath Pamidi (Retd.), CAO, IIM Indore and Professor Surbhi Dayal, Faculty, IIM Indore.
The children applauded the performance by Amplif-i, followed by two dance performances by Umariya school students. A street play by Adaa was organised to raise awareness about climate change. The children also enthusiastically took part in the Cultural Quiz, which had two rounds. Classes 6th, 7th and 8th were competing together, and the students of Class 8th won the competition. Professor Shweta Kushal, Faculty, IIM Indore congratulated the winners and distributed prizes. The performance by Impulse received a warm response from the audience.
