Students from Government Schools Visit IIM Indore as a part of i-Help Teaching Initiative
IIM Indore’s campus witnessed a cheerful presence of over 175 school children who visited the campus on November 19, 2015. These students belonged to the three government schools namely, EG School, Pigdamber; Government Primary and Middle School, Shramik Colony and Primary School, Rangwasa; adopted by i-Help, a teaching initiative at IIM Indore.
The entire campus was abuzz with the enthusiasm of the young kids for whom a number of activities and competitions were arranged by i-Help members. The students from class 6th to 8th interacted with the institute counselor, Ms. Prarthana Sharma who motivated the students to pursue their dreams. She also discussed about the importance of education and how being educated helps you decide between right and wrong.
A drawing competition was also conducted for the students and the winners were awarded with storybooks, drawing books and geometry boxes. The little kids participated in various competitions like banana race, dog and the bone, football, etc with zeal and eagerness. The students also interacted with the faculty members.
A hearty lunch for the kids was arranged in the student mess. The day ended with the animated movie ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ being shown to the kids, who were delighted and thrilled by the entire experience and seemed reluctant to leave.
The event was a success with the tireless efforts of the 50-member strong i-Help team and the support of the Institute.
