The eighth edition of the five-week specialized course for career development of various management faculties called ‘Faculty Development Programme’ (FDP) concluded at IIM Indore on May 27, 2016. The valedictory function took place in the presence of Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore, Professor Ganesh Kumar Nidugala, Dean (Academic) and Professor Subhasankar Chattopadhyay, Chair, FDP, IIM Indore and all the 44 participants for this year’s FDP.
Professor Chattopadhyay welcomed the guests and the participants and mentioned that this year’s programme was restructured a lot compared to the previous years in a more beneficial way for the researchers. ‘The curriculum this year focused more on research and the tools which many of the participants can use in their professional life as well’, he said. He congratulated the participants for successfully completing the programme.
Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan also congratulated the participants, and said that the learnings of the programme would surely help the participants to look at situations more practically. ‘I hope that you all will be able to use the practical knowledge gained during the course in a more practical and apt way’, he mentioned. He wished bright and successful career to the participants.
Professor Ganesh Kumar Nidugala also wished a good luck to the participants and advised them to use the tools of research in an efficient way.
The participants also shared their experience at IIM Indore and noted that the programme gave them a clarification of what actually research is and how it can be done in an resourceful, easy and yet effective manner. They also appreciated the smooth flow of conductance of the programme by the Institute and said that it has been a very fruitful journey at IIM Indore during the 35-day course.
Professor Subhashakar Chattopadhyay then delivered vote of thanks.
The FDP at IIM Indore aims at professional development of management teachers, researchers, and practitioners. This year, the participants got a chance to learn about Case and Teaching Skill Development, Research Methodology, Research Skill Development and Perspectives on Management.
