IIM Indore has successfully concluded its ‘Summer Placements’ for the class of 2018 for a batch of 561 PGP and IPM students.
The placement season saw the participation of around 170 companies, all vying to attract the best talent. With almost 15% increase in the average stipend from last year and The Boston Consulting Group offering the highest stipend of INR 3,00,000, this year’s average stipend stood at INR 1,04,000 for the entire batch and INR 1,88,000 for the top 100 offers.
First-time recruiters accounted for almost 40% of the total participating companies and included the likes of Avalon Consulting, Corporate Executive Board, CIMB Bank, Credit Suisse, DE Shaw, Dell, Dr Lal PathLabs, Ernst & Young, FIS Global, GroupM, Idea, IDFC Bank, IndiaMart, JSW Group, KPMG, Nomura Holdings, Ogilvy & Mather, PT Bank Maybank Indonesia, PwC, SBI Cards, Shell, Standard Chartered, Sun Pharma, Times OOH, YES Bank and WYZ Games to name a few.
While bulge bracket investment banks like Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan Chase together rolled out more than 30 offers, recruiters like HCCB, Madura Fashion and Lifestyle and RPG also reaffirmed their faith in IIM Indore by hiring after a brief hiatus.
With greater opportunities across sectors and functions, the season saw maximum offers in the Sales & Marketing domain with 35% of the batch opting for it. Finance roles attracted 22% of the batch talent while consulting, IT and General management followed lead with 10-12% students opting for each domain.
The third batch of Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) that appeared for summer placements witnessed increased participation by leading recruiters like Credit Suisse, DE Shaw, HCCB, HUL, L’Oreal, Nomura Holdings, Ogilvy & Mather to name a few.
