Ms. Harshala Chandorkar, Senior Vice President- Consumer Services and Communication, conducted a Voluntary Credit Workshop at IIM Indore on behalf of The Credit Information Bureau (India) Ltd (CIBIL) on August 10, 2015.
In her talk, Ms. Harshala emphasized on the importance of having a good CIBIL TransUnion Score. She talked about the different ways in which a CIBIL score benefits both financial institutions as well as the consumers, giving advantages such as a decrease in processing time of loans, standardization of decisions taken by banks across branches etc. Data Quality was a major challenge that she spoke about. Giving references on how the score is calculated, she also explained how it has led to increasing financial discipline among the people of the country. The session organized by the Industry Interaction Cell ended with few more inputs on the future scope of CIBIL and the ways to increase one’s ‘credit worthiness’.
