Around 250 students from Government Excellence School, Jhabua; along with their faculty members visited IIM Indore on November 27, 2019. The objective of the visit was to give an opportunity to the students know about educational institutions which provide world class academics and state of the art infrastructure facilities. The students belonged to class 9th and 10th, and were very enthusiastic visiting the campus.
After receiving a very warm welcome from the IIM Indore community, they got a chance to see the infrastructure of the Institute which included the Learning Centre, Classrooms and Academic Block. The students were also encouraged to stay fit and got a chance to visit the Gymnasium and Sports Complex which had the Olympic size swimming pool, squash court, badminton court, sauna and tennis lawns. They then visited the New Auditorium where they were given a presentation about the Institute and its programmes. Col. Gururaj Gopinath Pamidi (Retd.), CAO, IIM Indore also interacted with the students and motivated them to always remain focused on achieving their dreams. ‘You should always keep on dreaming and try and try until you succeed. You do not always need to be asleep to dream, for dreams are achieved with eyes open and mind focused’, he said. He also gave a brief introduction about the admission procedure in the Five Year Integrated Programme in Management.
Mr. Jainath Yadav, Hindi Officer, IIM Indore then also interacted with the school students and briefed them about initiatives of the Institute. This was followed by a photo session of the students, who were very delighted to see the campus.
Mr. Rajesh Shrivastava from Hindi Department then gave vote of thanks. The visit was possible by the kind efforts by Mr. Ganesh Bhavar, Deputy Commissioner, Tribal and SC Development Department, Indore. The students left with happy memories and aim to remain more focused on studies to achieve their dreams.
