On the occasion of completion of Ten Years of EPGP – The One Year Full Time Post Graduate Programme in Management, IIM Indore conducted a reunion for all the batches of the programme. The programme commenced in the year 2002, which had duration of 18 months. In the year 2009, the programme duration was changed to one year. This is a full time residential programme for experienced professionals, designed to enhance knowledge, skills and capabilities essential for managing and leading organizations. The programme combines skill building with exploration of good management practices. Accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) London (UK) in the year 2016, the programme in addition to a comprehensive functional core module, offers elective courses aligned with the industry concentration identified for the programme such as Analytics, BFSI, e-Commerce, Operations, Marketing & Strategy, etc.
The reunion witnessed presence of over 40 alumni from various batches, reliving and cherishing their memories at the Institute. Inauguration of the event took place in the presence of Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore; Professor Ashish Sadh, Chair, EPGP; IIM Indore and the participants from the current batch—welcoming the alumni to Planet-I.
Followed by the lamp lighting ceremony, Professor Krishnan then delivered his welcome speech. He said that over the time there have been various alumni meets in the city but having entire group of participants from all the batches was a big opportunity for the Institute, faculty members and the current batch to interact with them. He then briefed the alumni about Institute’s various initiatives and programmes. ‘One Year Full Time Post Graduate Programme in Management is a course which gives huge access to know about what’s happening in the industry—as all the participants come from vivid industries, with great work experience and provide a platform for the faculty as well to exchange thoughts’, he said.
The event also witnessed felicitation of Mr. Pranava Tripathi (2009-2010). He had successfully completed his course and had demonstrated outstanding scholastic performance during his graduation. The Board of Governors and IIM Indore Society had awarded Gold Medal to him for securing 2nd Rank on the basis of Scholastic Performance. Since Mr. Tripathi was unable to attend the Twelfth Annual Convocation held on March 26, 2011; IIM Indore decided to present him the Gold Medal during the reunion.
This was followed by self-introduction of the alumni. They also shared their memories during their graduation at the Institute and also remembered various funny incidences during the time.
The current batch participants were enthusiastic to listen to their seniors and inspired by their achievements. They then briefed the alumni about their initiatives, launch of groundbreaking ‘Digital Placement Brochure’, a first ever in the history of IIMs, being one of the initiatives and the alumni were excited to see their juniors perform well. They also gave suggestions for improvements in various initiatives. Professor Krishnan and Professor Sadh also interacted with the alumni. The event concluded with a cultural programme by the current batch—with various dancing and singing performances.
The second day began with a campus walk, followed by leadership talk, whereby the celebrated alumni who hold coveted leadership positions across companies and industries, shared their industry insights with the current batch of EPGP.
Mr. Pradeep Joshi, Director- Midwest Autosales Pvt. Ltd., shared his insights into ways of making a profit in the aviation industry despite low margins in the industry. Mr. Rajendra Inani, Project Director, Rolta India, then talked about the tremendous opportunity in the field of government sector consultancy and shared his experiences as a consultant for Ease of Business initiatives across various state government initiatives.
The day concluded with a tree plantation drive where the alumni planted 40 trees as a memoir of the reunion.
