Academic Information

Credit Load: Students at IIM Indore are required to take a minimum of 30 credits per term. Courses are usually 4 credits each but can be 3 & 2 credits as well. A four credit course requires 100 hours of work of which includes 25 hours of classroom learning and the remaining 75 hours of work outside the classroom in form of readings, assignments, projects etc. For exchange students, their school will determine the number of credit hours taken by them. They find this course load as academically enriching as well as challenging.

Attendance Criteria: Minimum attendance of 75 percent is required in every course. Every absence in any class must be authorized by the IPM Office beforehand. The PGP Office will keep a record of attendance in all courses. Students who do not meet the minimum attendance norm in a course will be awarded one full grade point lower than that secured by them in that course. Missing more than permissible number of classes of the course would result in an “F” grade for that course. The PGP office will do this and the teaching faculty concerned will be informed of the same.
