Are real life problems complex or are they quite simple? Is management an art or a science? Why do most of the managerial actions not result in an improvement in the bottom-line? What is it that stops the organization from achieving its goal? Is there a systematic method to generate simple yet powerful solutions for ‘complex real-life problems’? This programme attempts to answer some of these questions using Theory of Constraints (TOC). The Theory of Constraints is a systems thinking methodology which identifies the most important limiting factor (i.e. constraint) that restricts the achievement of the system’s goal and then systematically improves it until it stops being the constraining factor. The development of Theory of Constraints is credited to Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt, the author of “The Goal”. The programme exposes the participants to some breakthrough solutions in the areas of Manufacturing, Services, Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Accounting and Projects, developed using TOC. Real life case studies will be discussed to demonstrate the effectiveness of TOC based solutions.
To expose the participants to the revolutionary ideas of Theory of Constraints and its breakthrough solutions.
The course will cover, in-detail, the following topics:
