GMPE Batch 5 Graduates at IIM Indore
The valedictory programme of the 5th Batch of One Year General Management Programme for Executives (GMPE) at IIM Indore took place on February 28, 2021. The programme was conducted from April 2019-June 2020. The valedictory event took place in the presence of Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore; Professor Prashant Salwan, Chair-Executive Education, IIM Indore; Professor Keyur Thaker and Professor Bhavin Shah – Faculty Coordinators – GMPE and all the 33 graduating participants.
Professor Rai urged the graduating batch to imagine the universe they want to be a part of, and then try to create it themselves. ‘With this GMPE, you are now armed with knowledge and skills; and you should use it now to make a difference in not only your life, but also in the lives of people around you’, he said. He encouraged the batch to introspect and find ways to contribute in building a strong nation and an inclusive world.
Professor Salwan shared his views on ‘Future Skills Architect’ and discussed the important skills required in the next five years. ‘Fifty percent of all current employees will need reskilling by the year 2025, which would include problem solving, self-management, working with people, and the apt knowledge for technology use and development’, he said. He noted that government, businesses and educational institutions must find ways to help people develop these skills—which enable them to perform present day jobs and the jobs that do not exist yet. He concluded congratulating the graduating batch and wishing them all the best for their future endeavours.
The graduating batch received certificates for successfully completing the programme. The toppers for the batch were Ms. Akanksha Saxena (Rank #1), Mr. Praveen Kumar Saxena (Rank #2) and Mr. Sushil Kumar (Rank #3).
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Thaker.
