Corporate Cricket League 2.0 Conducted by IRIS-Ranbhoomi
The second edition of the Corporate Cricket League conducted by IIM Indore’s Management and Cultural Fest IRIS and the Annual Sports Fest Ranbhoomi concluded on October 30, 2022. This was a pre-fest event sponsored by Decathlon and was exclusively conducted for corporates in Indore. These included TCS, Decathlon, Patanjali, Carryfast, Impetus, Tata Steel, WorldPay, Softude, etc. A total of 16 teams competed in 27 rounds, which spanned four days of enthusiasm and fun. Besides being an excellent sports platform, CCL also offered companies a chance to expand their corporal network and valuable B2B opportunities. Thus, CCL was a perfect amalgamation of sports and business.
The teams competed in a league format, initially divided into four groups of 4 each. Three venues were arranged for the matches: IIM Indore, DPS Rau, and Vikrant College. The teams that qualified for the semi-finals were: TCS, Worldpay, Decathlon, and Softude. The final day witnessed high-scoring matches, all for good reasons, and TCS and Worldpay qualified for the ‘battle of the champions.’ TCS was declared the winner, and they received the CCL trophy.
Further, the teams were also engaged in various media campaigns, as they participated in viral Instagram trends such as the ‘Mannequin Challenge’ and the ‘Mexican Wave’ across the two weeks.
The Industry Interface Office (IIO), IIM Indore, also conducted a corporate get-together during the prize distribution ceremony. Col. Gururaj Pamidi (Retd), CAO, IIM Indore, was the Chief Guest on occasion. He shared some brilliant insights about the leadership lessons from cricket. Prof. Prashant Salwan, Chair – IIO, and Guest of Honor for the Event, also congratulated the winners and appreciated the Ranbhoomi, IRIS, and IIO team for the successful event.
The event concluded with a high tea.
