Prof. Himanshu Rai said, ‘Our commitment to women’s empowerment continues to steer our initiatives. In collaboration with AKTU, we are poised to launch specialized training programmes aimed at cultivating financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and leadership qualities among women across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.’ This MoU seeks to offer substantial opportunities that will equip and empower women, positioning them as influential leaders and catalysts for change within their respective communities. The programmes will be aimed at nurturing financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and leadership abilities among the women of Uttar Pradesh. Our Rural Engagement Programme immerses students in rural India specifically in Madhya Pradesh, facilitating a profound understanding of local challenges and enabling them to offer viable solutions. The lessons learned from our REP and work in Harda will be used to work in both MP and UP, to begin with and then other states as well, said Prof. Rai.
The framework delineated in the MoU encompasses multiple collaborative endeavors, including the development of specialized programmes aimed at enhancing the capabilities of academic personnel across colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh as well. Additionally, both institutions will engage in joint efforts to design short-term and long-term certificate courses while embarking on research and consultancy projects, fostering an environment for innovative knowledge exchange.
Prof. J.P. Pandey stated that collaborating with IIM Indore, a business school with prestigious Triple Crown accreditation, is a momentous step in creating a vibrant space for knowledge exchange and societal development. “We are determined to take initiatives towards building a robust academic network that fosters innovation and skill development in the state, focusing on women empowerment. This collaboration extends to jointly working across all 75 districts of the state’s widely acclaimed initiative, ‘One District One Product”, he said. The MoU aims at creating a meaningful impact in empowering rural women with financial knowledge and contributing to the success of the state’s ODOP scheme. “Together with IIM Indore, we aim to create a conducive environment for learning and growth”, he said.
The collaboration is not limited to academia but extends to the social fabric, with joint efforts planned for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) activities. Both institutions are also committed to collaborating on initiatives focusing on entrepreneurship development and the establishment of incubation centers, aiming to create a positive impact in the communities.
