Overview

In essence, the strategic plan is a company’s game plan. Leaders cannot leave growth to chance. They should have a Strategy for growing as well as for applying new knowledge faster than their competitors. A Strategic leader (SL) needs to develop concrete plans to help the organization accomplish its goal. As per Prof Porter, a strategic leader needs to continuously create unique and valuable position for its firms and product and services by involving a diverse set of firm’s activities and making trade-offs in competing, creating fit among a company’s activities.

SL need to in real time deliberate as, where are we now? Where do we want to go? And how are we going to get there? These three questions help the firm develop profitability and profit growth thus increasing stakeholders and shareholders’ value. A SL needs to create value and capture value through Adapting to change in external trends, internal capabilities, and resources and Effectively formulating, implementing & evaluating strategies.
