Leading Through Geopolitical shifts: Risk, Resilience, and Reliability

Overview

Wars, tariffs, climate shocks, technological rivalries, and shifting alliances are reshaping our world—unforeseen events unfolding quickly. The pace and direction of change are often bewildering, fuelling considerable and widespread uncertainty.

Long-held assumptions about geopolitics, globalization, trade, supply chains, and stable markets are breaking down. Great power rivalries, industrial policy, protectionism, and economic nationalism are redrawing the trade map. Business leaders today face what Michael Froman, the current president of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in the United States, calls “the most complex international environment in 80 years.”

Geopolitics is no longer a backdrop—it is a decisive force that drives risks, unlocks opportunities, and rewires global trade flows. Companies that merely react will find themselves vulnerable; those that adopt an initiative-taking lens—viewing geopolitics as a source of disruption and value creation—can future-proof their strategies and thrive.

This program is designed to raise awareness among business leaders of the forces driving geopolitical shifts and the constraints and opportunities they create. It equips leaders to look beyond the headlines, grasp the evolving rules of engagement, and rethink strategy in a world of escalating risk.
