Swechha Chada earned her PhD from the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli and previously served on the faculty at the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai.
Her research lies at the intersection of corporate finance and corporate governance within emerging market economies. Specifically, she investigates how ownership structures, regulatory shifts, and information transparency shape corporate decision-making and firm outcomes. Her doctoral dissertation examined the drivers behind rising corporate cash holdings in India, analysing the phenomenon through the lenses of promoter socioemotional wealth, institutional monitoring, earnings quality, and the unintended consequences of the Companies Act 2013. Extending this agenda, her current research explores how macro-level shocks such as bankruptcy policy reforms and economic policy uncertainties alter corporate financial strategies.
She teaches core and elective courses in Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Valuation, Portfolio Management, and Project Finance.
