Social Placement

IIM Indore seeks to be a contextually-relevant business school with world-class academic standards that develops socially-conscious managers, leaders, and entrepreneurs. In line with this goal, social sensitivity has been incorporated into its residential programmes as a fundamental principle. This has been accomplished within the IPM curriculum by means of the Social Internships that conclude the second year of study for each IPM cohort.

As a mandatory undertaking at the end of the second year for participants of IIM Indore’s flagship 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), the social internship is a 6-8 week opportunity for students to contribute to, and gain from multi-disciplinary roles in organisations such as Think Tanks, NGOs, Incubators, Impact Investing and Sustainability-oriented Firms, and CSR Wings of various companies.

The Social Placements Committee is a student body that acts as a bridge between the recruiting organizations and the IPM participants and is dedicated to helping the students realize their potential as socially responsible leaders of the future.

Participants of the social placements process have previously interned in CSR/social roles at reputed organisations such as Ambuja Cement, Bharti Airtel, IIMA Ventures, Institute of Chinese Studies, JM Financial, Larsen & Toubro, ONGC Ltd, Steel Authority of India Limited, Tata Strive, Tech Mahindra, etc. Our participants have consistently received outstanding performance reviews from the organizations they have worked with.
