IIM Indore aspires to be a business school that is both contextually relevant and globally benchmarked, committed to nurturing socially conscious managers and leaders. In pursuit of this mission, social consciousness has been embedded as a core element of its residential programmes. For the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), this is reflected through the Social Internship, a key component marking the conclusion of the second academic year.
This internship is a compulsory 6–8 week opportunity at the end of the second year, offering IPM participants the opportunity to contribute to and learn from interdisciplinary roles across various sectors. These include, Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) wings of companies, Non-Profit Organisations, Social Incubators, Impact-Investing firms, and Policy Research Institutions .
This initiative is facilitated by the Social Placements Committee, a student-run body that connects IPM students with relevant organisations and supports them in shaping their journey as socially conscious leaders.
Over the years, students have engaged in CSR and impact roles at reputed organisations such as Amazon, Ambuja Foundation, Bharti Airtel, DLF Foundation, EY Foundation, HCL Tech, ITC Ltd., JM Financial, Larsen & Toubro, ONGC Ltd, Tata Strive, Tata Consumer Products, and Tech Mahindra, etc. Across cohorts, students have consistently received high praise and strong performance evaluations from their host organisations.
