Role Overview:
The Deputy General Manager (Career Services) will be responsible for leading and managing all activities of the Career Services Office (CSO), with a focus on ensuring alignment between institutional goals, student aspirations, and corporate engagement. The role involves strategic planning, external engagement, and internal coordination to facilitate career outcomes across academic programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Career Services Office, ensuring smooth functioning and stakeholder satisfaction—students, faculty, recruiters, and the Institute.
- Proactively engage with the corporate sector and alumni to strengthen relationships and drive placement opportunities across sectors and geographies.
- Track market trends, evolving industry requirements, and recruitment practices to align the Institute’s placement strategies accordingly.
- Work closely with faculty, student placement committees, and administration to orient them on industry developments and employer expectations.
- Lead business development initiatives to expand the recruiter base and improve brand visibility among target organisations.
- Develop, nurture, and manage key corporate relationships to ensure sustained recruiter engagement across verticals.
- Conceptualise and drive campaigns to position IIM Indore talent among prospective employers, including recruiter meets, and corporate outreach.
- Oversee student preparedness initiatives including CV reviews, mock interviews, group discussion practice sessions, and workshops on career readiness.
- Facilitate industry interaction sessions and ensure quality corporate participation in placement and internship processes.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Postgraduate degree in Management (MBA/PGDM) or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in industry across sectors or in managing career services/recruitments in reputed academic institutions.
- Strong understanding of management education and evolving employment trends in the Indian and global context.
- Demonstrated ability to network with senior industry professionals and create meaningful engagement opportunities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Salary & Allowances
The selected candidate will be deputed in IIM Indore through manpower agency rolls on a consolidated monthly pay package subject to satisfactory performance, which will be reviewed on an annual basis. Salary will not be a constraint for the deserving candidate.
