Prof. Pawan Kumar Singh is Professor in the area of Organisational Behaviour & Human Resource Management. He has been teaching for more than two decades at M.B.A. level programmes. He has taught at NITIE, Mumbai; IGNOU, New Delhi; Kanpur University; and Vikram University, Ujjain. Before joining academic career, he has worked with Bank of India as Industrial Relations Officer.
His teaching, training, research and consulting interests are on themes related to Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Human Values & Indian Ethos, Business Communication, and Developing Managerial Skills. He has provided consultancy in the area of Organisation Development and has worked as member of task force to rejuvenate state public sector organizations in M.P. Prof. Singh has guided research at doctoral level, and has evaluated several Ph. D. theses. He is member of editorial boards of reputed journals. He has published book on Managing Interpersonal Conflict. He has written more than twenty articles in journals and edited books, and has presented papers in more than forty seminars. He has also taught through teleconferencing, has developed teaching material for distance education mode, and has developed audiocassette on Interviewing Skills.
He has conducted more than 100 Management Development Programmes. During his MDPs he has interacted with more than eight thousand participants comprising of senior managers from public and private sectors, bureaucrats, editors, engineers, doctors, honourable judges, academicians, entrepreneurs and others. During his academic career he has supervised works related to academic administration being member of library committee, Hindi implementation committee, selection committee, academic committee, manpower committee, purchase & personnel committee etc. At IIM Indore he has also served as part-time CVO, Chair MDP, Chair OB & HRM Area, and as Officiating Director.
Apart from enjoying his profession he loves some other activities like writing poetry, playing cricket, singing, traveling, reading scriptures and quotations, and astronomy. His collection of shaayari on life management is under publication. His compilation of managerial sutras from more than 30 Sanskrit scriptures is also getting ready for publication. One of his favourite quotes is: We are always preparing to live but never living.
