Varun Sharma completed his doctoral studies at the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, with his Ph.D. thesis focusing primarily on studying workplace vigilantism from the perspective of social hierarchies. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Delhi. Prior to joining IIM Lucknow as a doctoral scholar, he served as an Assistant Professor at a private university for one semester, teaching Industrial and Organizational Psychology to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Varun is an active researcher, with a primary focus on understanding and delineating the antecedents and mechanisms that lead to different types of deviant workplace behavior. His aim is to publish his research in reputable journals. Currently, he has several papers published in A-category journal per the ABDC ranking such as Applied Psychology, Journal of Cross-cultural Psychology and International Journal of Manpower.
Varun has also received acceptances from prestigious international conferences such as the Academy of Management (AOM) for Best Paper Award in OB division, the European Group of Organizational Studies (EGOS), the British Academy of Management (BAM), the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM), and the Southern Management Association (SMA).
