Purvendu Sharma has completed his doctoral studies from the Indian Institute of Management Indore. He holds an MBA in Marketing from Institute of Management Studies, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Management from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore.
His research interest lies in brand communities, digital engagement, social media marketing, tourism and hospitality management and influencer marketing. Purvendu’s works have received acceptance in elite journals, such as the Journal of Product & Brand Management, Marketing Intelligence & Planning, International Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Administration, and Electronic Commerce Research and Applications. His teaching interest lies in digital marketing, brand management and tourism marketing. He has previously worked as faculty member with the Goa Institute of Management and the Institute of Rural Management Anand before joining IIM Indore.
