Institutional Expenses

Following is an approximate break up of expenses that a typical exchange student incurs while attending IIM Indore for a term.

Institutional expenses are charged from exchange students towards books, course materials, and registration costs. As a part of student exchange agreement, incoming exchange students are required to pay the tuition fees at their own university; they are exempted from tuition fees at IIM Indore. However, exchange students are required to pay hostel and miscellaneous charges for their on-campus housing at IIM Indore.

Following is the breakup of Institutional Fees for incoming exchange students at IIM Indore:

  • * Miscellaneous fee includes costs for books & course materials, library fees, Student Activity Council fees and medical facility fees. Medical facility includes a dispensary at the institute where first aid and other routine medical treatment is given. Basic medicines would be provided in the dispensary. For other drugs, doctors will give prescription, which participants have to buy on their own.
  • ** To be refunded at the end of the term after deducting dues, if any.

These fees can be paid either by Bank Transfer, Demand Draft or Cash. The fees are required to be paid by the day of Registration, after which late fees of INR 5,000 will be applicable.

Personal Expenses There are some other expenses which exchange students would usually incur during their stay at IIM Indore. The details of a few such common expenses are as follows:

Rent for a cab is around Rs.600, for a 4 seater car. It is Rs.1500 for an 8 seater car; this rent is for a round trip distance travelled up to 40 km over a period of 4 hrs. Extra charges are incurred for longer distances and time period.

Dinner at a local restaurant: Rs. 400-900 per person (approx.)

Mobile Phone charges: Rs.200/SIM Card + Telephone Usage charges

Other expenses could include expenses on daily used commodities bought by exchange students from local markets.
