- 24 Participants Begin a Transformative Journey in Executive Management Education
The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) marked another milestone in executive learning with the inauguration of the 23rd batch of its weekend MBA, the Post Graduate Programme for Working Executives in Mumbai (PGPMX 2025–27) at its Mumbai Campus on August 02, 2025. The batch was inaugurated by Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore. Prof. Mit Vachhrajani, Chair – PGPMX, faculty members, and all the registered 24 participants were also present on this occasion.
Prof. Himanshu Rai, in his inaugural address, urged participants to approach the programme with an open heart and mind, emphasizing that learning comes from every interaction, be it with faculty, peers, or alumni. He encouraged the cohort to develop conscientiousness, practice discipline, and manage time wisely. “The key,” he said, “is to focus only on what you truly want to do. Spend time on things that genuinely matter to you, because when you follow your passion, your habits shape your character.”
He reminded participants to have empathy not just for others, but for themselves. “Be kind to yourself,” he said. “Don’t judge or compare. You are on your own journey, so don’t live your life chasing someone else’s expectations. Even if you succeed, it won’t bring fulfillment if it’s not truly yours.” He further encouraged the batch to live courageously, to let go of the fear of failure, and to remember that while hard work is necessary, it is not sufficient. What truly drives success, he noted, is grit, patience, and resilience. He also stressed the importance of networking and building relationships across diverse perspectives, urging participants to connect not just with those from similar backgrounds but also with those who are different. This inclusive mindset, he said, is what shapes empathetic, adaptable, and impactful leaders.
In his welcome address, Prof. Mit Vachhrajani congratulated the participants on taking a decisive step toward leadership and growth. He highlighted the unique structure of the PGPMX, which enables professionals to work and study concurrently, with alternate weekend classes designed to ensure immediate application of classroom learning in real-world scenarios. “This simultaneous learning and implementation model provides a deep, experiential learning curve,” he noted. With IIM Indore’s participant-centred pedagogy, peer learning is the true strength. Over two years, participants reflect, evolve, and emerge as stronger leaders, professionals, and responsible citizens, he said.
