IIM Indore Inaugurates the Third Batch of Executive Master of Management Studies (EMP–MMS) Programme
Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) inaugurated the third batch of its Executive Management Programme – Master of Management Studies (EMP–MMS), marking the beginning of a new learning journey for a cohort of ambitious working professionals. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, in the presence of Prof. Nishit Kumar Sinha, Programme Chair, and Prof. Manoj Motiani, Associate Dean – Executive Education.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Himanshu Rai congratulated them on embarking upon this significant and transformative journey. He reflected on India’s strong growth trajectory and emphasized the critical role that skilled, future-ready professionals will play in shaping the nation’s progress. He highlighted IIM Indore’s commitment to nation-building through contextually relevant, world-class education and by nurturing socially conscious leaders.
Encouraging participants to make the most of their time in the programme, Prof. Rai stressed the importance of experiential learning and peer-to-peer engagement. “Learning is not merely about accumulating knowledge, but about internalizing and applying it in meaningful ways,” he noted. He urged participants to step beyond their professional identities and approach the classroom as learners, open to diverse perspectives and experiences. He further added, “Be open to learning, be curious, and engage deeply with people and ideas around you. The real value of this journey will lie in how you translate your learning into action.”
Prof. Rai also spoke about the importance of perseverance and resilience in achieving success. He emphasized that while hard work is essential, it must be complemented by patience and determination. Highlighting the need for courage, he remarked, “Be courageous in your journey—because without courage, there is no integrity. Challenges will come, but what will define you is your ability to stay committed and keep moving forward.” He encouraged participants to build meaningful narratives over the next two years—stories of growth, learning, and impact that they would be proud to share.
Welcoming the cohort, Prof. Nishit Kumar Sinha emphasized the thoughtfully designed curriculum of the programme, which addresses real-world business challenges and equips participants with critical thinking and leadership capabilities. He highlighted that the programme is tailored to meet the evolving needs of working professionals and provides a platform for both personal and professional transformation.
Prof. Manoj Motiani, in his address, reiterated IIM Indore’s commitment to delivering programmes that are relevant, rigorous, and impactful. He encouraged participants to remain focused on the present and to approach the journey with commitment and discipline. He emphasized that while opportunities will be abundant, the outcomes will ultimately depend on the effort and dedication each participant brings to the programme.
