Indian Institute of Management Indore Expands International Collaboration with Cleveland State University

  • Signs an MoU with Cleveland State University to offer student and faculty exchange and joint programmes

IIM Indore announces a significant step forward in its international engagement with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cleveland State University (CSU), Cleveland, Ohio, USA. The MoU was signed virtually by Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, and Prof. Nigamanth Sridhar, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Cleveland State University. Prof. Abhishek Mishra, Faculty – Marketing, IIM Indore, Prof.  Melissa L Gruys, Dean,  and Prof. Ashutosh Dixit, Faculty of Marketing, Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University were also present on this occasion.

The MoU focuses  on enhancing academic exchange and collaboration between the two institutions. Sharing delight over the collaboration, Prof. Rai said, “We are thrilled to embark on this collaboration with Cleveland State University, an institution known for its academic excellence, innovative research, and dedication to student success. By joining hands with Cleveland State University, our students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a dynamic learning environment, enriched by diverse perspectives and cutting-edge initiatives. Together, we aim to foster a culture of academic excellence and innovation that empowers students to thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.” This partnership marks a pivotal moment for both institutions as we embark on a journey of reciprocal student exchanges, joint-degree programmes, and collaborative research initiatives. “Through this MoU, we aim to enrich the academic experience for our students and faculty members”, he added.

Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Sridhar emphasized, “We are thrilled to formalize our partnership with IIM Indore. This collaboration presents exciting opportunities for our students and faculty to engage in cross-cultural learning, innovative research, and academic exchange.” Through this collaboration, our students will have the unique opportunity to engage with the rich cultural tapestry of India, broadening their perspectives and enhancing their understanding of global business practices.

Prof. Gruys mentioned that the diversity of experiences offered by IIM Indore will undoubtedly enrich the learning journey of the students from CSU, fostering cross-cultural understanding and preparing them to thrive in a globally interconnected world. Prof. Dixit added that the partnership between IIM Indore and CSU is poised to yield mutual benefits for both institutions. Students will have access to diverse learning environments, expanded academic resources, and enhanced cross-cultural experiences. Faculty members will have opportunities for collaborative research projects, joint teaching initiatives, and professional development activities.

Furthermore, this collaboration lays the foundation for long-term academic partnerships and fosters a culture of innovation and excellence in education. By leveraging each other’s strengths and resources, IIM Indore and CSU are committed to driving positive change in the global higher education landscape.

As part of the MoU, both institutions will embark on various collaborative endeavors, including undergraduate and graduate student exchanges, joint-degree programs, faculty exchanges, research collaborations, and the organization of academic conferences and seminars.

The MoU will be valid for three years, during which both institutions will work closely to implement various collaborative activities. This partnership further strengthens IIM Indore’s global outreach efforts, which already encompass 49 collaborations with institutions across 19 nations.
