The First Batch of IIM Indore’s Master of Management Studies Begins at IIM Indore

Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) proudly inaugurated the first batch of its newly launched Master of Management Studies (MMS), designed specifically for working professionals. The batch was inaugurated by Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, on April 17, 2024. This marked a significant milestone in executive education, tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern business landscapes. Prof. Subin Sudhir, Associate Dean, Executive Education; Prof. Nishit Sinha, Programme Coordinator – MMS; and Mr. Anish Srikrishna, CEO of Times Pro and Learning, were also present on this occasion. The first batch welcomed 80 participants, representing a diverse range of industries and educational backgrounds. With a dynamic cohort composition—69% male and 31% female—participants bring a wealth of experience across various sectors.

During the inauguration, Prof. Himanshu Rai emphasized the visionary essence of the MMS programme. Prof. Rai said that this programme epitomizes our steadfast dedication to fostering future leaders, equipping them with the requisite knowledge, acumen, and leadership prowess to navigate organizations through the intricacies of a profoundly VUCA world. Prof. Rai highlighted the blend of academic rigor and practical learning opportunities the programme offers, setting a new standard for executive education. “The proficiencies acquired by the learners during this programme shall prove profoundly critical and indispensable in navigating the uncertainties of the global landscape”, he added.

Prof. Sudhir expressed his enthusiasm about the unique aspects of the MMS. “The design and delivery of this programme leverage cutting-edge technology and pedagogical innovations to ensure that our curriculum remains at the forefront of global business trends and educational excellence,” he noted.

Prof. Nishit Sinha welcomed the new batch with insights into the curriculum’s relevance and potential impact. “Our curriculum is meticulously crafted to address the real-world challenges faced by professionals today. It focuses on developing strategic thinking and leadership skills that are crucial for advancing in one’s career,” Prof. Sinha explained.

Mr. Srikrishna commented, “The launch of the Master of Management Studies marks the beginning of many initiatives designed to prepare India’s future workforce to effectively handle change and drive growth and sustainability. We are privileged to collaborate with the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Indore to deliver this progressive program. The inaugural batch comprises a diverse group of 80 professionals, reflecting a rich mosaic of backgrounds and experiences. This batch features a majority of engineers, accounting for 64% of the participants, followed by professionals from finance (10%), management (9%), science (8%), arts (4%), IT (4%), and design (1%). The gender distribution within the batch stands at 69% male and 31% female. Geographically, the participants are from 15 states across the nation. The participants also vary widely in terms of experience, with 57% having between 2 to 5 years, 28% between 5 to 10 years, 14% between 10 to 15 years, and 1% having over 15 years of professional experience, making this batch uniquely positioned to leverage and contribute to the diverse and comprehensive curriculum offered by the programme.

MMS comprises 900 hours of immersive learning sessions conducted on an advanced Interactive Learning (IL) platform that blends online and offline learning modalities. Participants will engage in specialized modules covering essential business domains such as Economics, Communications, Finance & Accounting, and Strategy, facilitated by a faculty of domain experts.
