Merchand-i - Merchandising and Retail Club

Merchand-I, the retailing club of IIM Indore, operates a store fondly known as “Pi Shop,” which caters to the daily needs of students and faculty, offering FMCG, sports products, and stationery. The primary objective of Merchand-I is to facilitate IIM Indore brand merchandise—including wearables, clothes, souvenirs, and more—while ensuring easy access to daily necessities for the campus community. Additionally, it is responsible for catering to the merchandising needs of the IIM community, organizing events to enhance participants’ knowledge of the retail industry. Merchand-I also secures bulk deals, including suits, calculators, and Himalayan Outbound Programme (HOP) products, and periodically arranges tailoring services.The Pi Shop, which began humbly in a small room on the ground floor of B-block, later moved to a 500 sq. ft. space in the basement of the G-block student hostel (next to the SBI ATM), and now occupies a designated area on the ground floor of the community centre. It operates seven days a week from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, except on Tuesdays when it functions from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. IIM Indore is one of the few MBA institutions in India where students get hands-on experience to run a full fledged retail business.
