Compliance with Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

  • All Learning Centre (LC) users must comply with prevailing IPR and copyright regulations while using any Learning Centre resources issued, accessed, or downloaded.
  • As per the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 (Section 52(1)(i)) and subsequent judicial interpretations, reproduction of copyrighted works for the purpose of private use, research, criticism, or review is permitted under the doctrine of fair dealing.
  • Under the IRRO License Agreement, users may photocopy up to 15% of a publication or one full chapter per year, whichever is greater. Photocopying of an entire publication or “cover-to-cover” reproduction is strictly prohibited.
  • Users must not install, download, copy, or distribute copyrighted materials without the written approval of the Learning Centre authority.
  • Any violation of copyright rules will invite disciplinary action in addition to legal consequences.
