24th Batch of PGPMX Begins at IIM Indore Mumbai Campus
- 20 Participants Embark on an Advanced Journey in Executive Management Education
The 24th batch of IIM Indore’s Weekend MBA – the Post Graduate Programme for Working Executives in Mumbai (PGPMX), commenced on January 10, 2026, at IIM Indore Mumbai Campus. The batch of 20 participants was inaugurated by Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore. Prof. Mit Vachhrajani, Chair – PGPMX, faculty members, and staff members were also present on this occasion.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Himanshu Rai urged participants to approach the programme with an open heart and an open mind, emphasizing that learning happens through every interaction – with faculty, peers, and alumni alike. He encouraged the cohort to cultivate conscientiousness, discipline, and effective time management, stressing that true growth comes from clarity of purpose. “Focus on what you truly want to do. When you invest time in what genuinely matters to you, your habits shape your character,” he said.
Prof. Rai also highlighted the importance of self-empathy, reminding participants not to judge or compare themselves with others. He urged them to live courageously, let go of the fear of failure, and recognize that while hard work is essential, it must be complemented by grit, patience, and resilience. Emphasizing leadership in a complex world, he spoke about the value of networking across diverse perspectives, encouraging participants to engage with people from different backgrounds to develop an inclusive outlook—one that defines empathetic, adaptable, and impactful leaders.
In his welcome address, Prof. Mit Vachhrajani congratulated the participants for taking a significant step toward leadership and professional growth. He highlighted the unique structure of the PGPMX, which enables professionals to learn while they work, with alternate weekend classes allowing for the immediate application of classroom concepts in real-world settings. “This simultaneous learning and implementation creates a rich, experiential learning curve,” he noted. Emphasizing IIM Indore’s participant-centred pedagogy, he said that learning is not one-sided – the peer group and cohort diversity form the real strength of the programme. Over the two-year journey, he added, participants reflect, evolve, and emerge as better leaders, professionals, and responsible citizens.
