Overview

Programme overview: Expertise in research is a necessity to make a promising career in humanities and social sciences. Prestigious Universities & Institutes in India are now carefully evaluating the research performance of faculty before making decisions on recruitment and promotions. A key measure of research performance is the ability to publish in top-tier journals; however, there are few opportunities where talented academicians may turn to for guidance. Keeping in view this need, we have put together a primer course on how to conduct quality research in humanities and social sciences.

The objective of the course is to give early academicians (recently graduated PhDs, post-Doctoral scholars and faculty) an opportunity to review the research fundamentals, develop competence in one or more research areas, and get exposed to cutting edge research methods. At the end of the programme, we expect that participants would have a good grounding in research, and the confidence to target reputed scholarly journals.
