Considering this objective, Nurturing Future Leadership Program under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP), Ministry of Education, Government of India, will aim to achieve the following objectives:
The course will provide faculty participants with an integrated and comprehensive view of leadership and its Impact on HEIs. The course will begin by understanding oneself and the impact that one’s behavior has on others. The programme will enable an appreciation of different theories and models of leadership and sensitize the participants to various aspects of leadership. The leader’s impact on groups and individuals will be explored through multiple interactive case discussions and exercises. Essential leadership skills like communication, coaching, and goal setting will also be discussed in the context of HEI. The course also aims to present leadership from an experiential learning approach; the participants not only read the concepts but also practice and experiment by using some of these techniques in a simulated academic institution. The programme will also focus on the need for a more focused approach to teaching in HEls as a tool for developing human capital and influencing the behavior and attitude of the students. Imparting fresh knowledge and skills and reinforcing new learning about the evolving technology in teaching students and professionals is a constant challenge. The programme content will be designed under the following areas:
The programme shall be coordinated and delivered by expert faculty members from IIM Indore. Participants will be required to attend the programme in residential mode, wherein they will be provided suitable accommodation at IIM Indore/Nearby hotels during the duration of training. Classes would be scheduled daily between 9:00 AM and 05:15 PM. Participants would also be assigned tasks for self-study, group activities, or field visits during the programme. IIM Indore shall use a judicious mix of lectures, case studies, discussions, group activities, field visits, and prescribed reading material to increase the effectiveness of the training. The programme will be designed to maximize experiential learning by enabling greater interaction among peers to gain a deeper understanding.
