IIM Indore Expands Global Footprint: Signs MoUs with Linnaeus University, Sweden, and National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan

With an objective to strengthen its global presence and provide unparalleled opportunities for its students and faculty, the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) has signed two significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with prestigious international institutions: Linnaeus University, Sweden, and the College of Management, National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan. These partnerships signal IIM Indore’s commitment to becoming a global hub for education and research, while simultaneously enabling international institutions to gain insights into the fast-growing Indian economy and its rich cultural heritage.

The first MoU was signed by Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, and Prof. Susanne Ackum, Dean of the School of Business & Economics, Linnaeus University. This is the first MoU of IIM Indore in Sweden. The second MoU was signed by Prof. Rai and Prof. Shu-Chuan Jennifer Yeh, Dean of the College of Management at NSYSU. The two MoUs are founded on a shared vision of advancing academic excellence and mutual growth.

Prof. Rai expressed his enthusiasm for these partnerships, stating, “At IIM Indore, we are committed to expanding our global footprint and creating opportunities that transcend borders. Our collaborations with Linnaeus University and NSYSU reflect our dedication to providing students and faculty with exposure to diverse perspectives, cutting-edge research, and innovative learning experiences. Linnaeus University, located in Sweden, is renowned for its strong focus on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and global engagement, with students and faculty from over 80 countries. “This partnership will provide our students and faculty with unique insights into Sweden’s innovation-driven economy, sustainable business practices, and an international academic environment. Together, we will explore solutions to global challenges encourage entrepreneurial thinking”, he said.

NSYSU, based in Taiwan, is a highly regarded research-oriented institution celebrated for its programmes in business, management, and innovation. Prof. Rai said that with its strong foothold in technology and its global reputation for excellence in business education, this partnership will open doors for IIM Indore to engage in cutting-edge research, exchange ideas on technological advancements, and explore the dynamic Asian business ecosystem.

Both agreements aim to facilitate student and faculty exchange programmes, providing opportunities for cross-cultural learning and global exposure. They also emphasize collaboration on joint research projects in areas of common interest, enabling institutions to address pressing global challenges together. Additionally, the partnerships will involve hosting joint academic events such as conferences, symposia, and workshops, creating platforms for meaningful dialogue and the exchange of ideas. By sharing research and educational resources, the institutions aim to enhance the learning experience and drive innovation. Furthermore, the exploration of joint academic programs underscores their commitment to developing impactful educational initiatives that prepare students for a globally connected world.

Prof. Susanne Ackum, Dean of the School of Business & Economics at Linnaeus University, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration. Similarly, Prof. Shu-Chuan Jennifer Yeh, Dean of the College of Management at NSYSU, emphasized the significance of the India-Taiwan connection, noting, “Taiwan and India are emerging leaders in technology, innovation, and business.
