Job Title: Assistant Engineer (Electrical)
Reporting To: Chief Officer Engineering (COE)
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in:
- Electrical systems installation and maintenance
- Site supervision and project execution
- Operation and maintenance of HT/LT electrical systems
- Commercial, institutional, industrial, or educational environments
Technical Competencies
Electrical Systems: Knowledge and hands-on experience in:
- HT/LT electrical distribution systems
- Transformers, switchgears, and panels
- DG sets and UPS systems
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
Power Management: Experience in:
- Load calculations and power distribution
- Energy monitoring and electrical safety practices
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance
Building Services: Familiarity with:
- Internal and external electrification works
- Electrical installations in buildings and infrastructure projects
- Street lighting and campus lighting systems
Testing & Troubleshooting: Ability to carry out:
- Fault diagnosis and rectification
- Testing and commissioning of electrical equipment
- Electrical inspections and safety compliance checks
Documentation & Design: Proficiency in preparation of:
- Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Electrical layouts and single-line diagrams (SLDs)
- Technical specifications and maintenance records
- AutoCAD and related documentation software
Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of:
- Electrical safety standards and statutory regulations
- CPWD/IS standards and electrical codes
- Energy conservation practices
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in electrical systems.
- Good understanding of electrical load management and safety procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple maintenance and project activities efficiently.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and reporting skills.
Salary & Allowances
The selected candidate will be deputed in IIM Indore on a fixed-term contract through manpower agency on a consolidated monthly pay package subject to satisfactory performance, which will be reviewed on an annual basis. Salary will not be a constraint for the deserving candidate.
